Is this the promised “liberation”? Impeach the bastard.

“Hundreds and possibly thousands of Iraqi civilians have been killed or maimed by outdated, defective U.S. cluster weapons that lack a safety feature other countries have added, according to observers, news reports and officials.” –CommonDreams.org

Sigh. I am not sure how much there is to say on this one, although I think a sign a protestor held at the greeting for our “president” said it best – “Bush Lied, People Died.” It really is quite that simple.

This president misled the public about a reason for going to war. We are not talking about not being able to keep your pants on anymore. We’re talking about war, the most serious decision that Congress can make, and this “president” misled the US Congress, and the American people. That definitely qualifies as a high crime under the US Constitution.

And in other news, more on the liberation. “Burned Iraqi Children Turned Away By US Army Doctors”. Yes, truth has a nasty habit of trickling out, slowly at first, drop by drop, until the drops combine into a fast moving river. This one truly leaves me speechless though.

“BALAD, Iraq - On a scorching afternoon, while on duty at an Army airfield, Sgt. David J. Borell was approached by an Iraqi who pleaded for help for his three children, burned when they set fire to a bag containing explosive powder left over from war in Iraq.

Borell immediately called for assistance. But the two Army doctors who arrived about an hour later refused to help the children because their injuries were not life-threatening and had not been inflicted by U.S. troops.”

One bit of recent history comes to mind – Vietnam, all over again?
