Allegiance to a flag?

Posted by site admin | Posted in General | Posted on 30-11-2004

They tried to pass an amendment in the U.S. Congress
Seems these thugs have some grievance to redress
They said we all must pledge allegiance, ’cause that is what they need
We may not desecrate their symbol of hypocrisy and greed

(Chorus)
But the flag is just a rag (2x)
Just a worn-out, tired, dirty, blood-soaked rag

Israel shocked by image of soldiers forcing violinist to play at roadblock

Posted by site admin | Posted in General | Posted on 30-11-2004

Mmmph. The Israelis seem mostly okay with racism, day-to-day harrassment and murder, but when their soldiers force a Palestinian man to play his violin at a checkpoint, they can’t uh, ignore uh some uh parallels. Like Warsaw maybe? A ghetto is a ghetto. Tear it down…

Israel shocked by image of soldiers forcing violinist to play at roadblock

Of all the revelations that have rocked the Israeli army over the past week, perhaps none disturbed the public so much as the video footage of soldiers forcing a Palestinian man to play his violin.

The incident was not as shocking as the recording of an Israeli officer pumping the body of a 13-year-old girl full of bullets and then saying he would have shot her even if she had been three years old.

Mmm. Now there is moral clarity

“You can elect Bush, Kerry or Satan himself, it doesn’t matter to us”

Well its nice to see their clarity on satanism! :-) Now if only the American public was quite as clear.

War on Kids with iPods?

Posted by davidzon | Posted in General | Posted on 14-10-2004

We won the war on drugs. We won the war on terrorism. We won the war on… kids with iPods?

Well no. We didn’t win any of the above, but we’re still going to pursue a war on kids with iPods next. And here I was thinking that Iran was our next biggest priority (now that we’ve been so successful in ending errr starting the VietIraq quagmire…) our government says nooo, we gotta go after those iPods!

According to Reuters, “U.S. Declares War on Intellectual Property Theft”. Oh boy.

How Appropriate

Posted by site admin | Posted in General | Posted on 09-10-2004

It is simply amazing that this country still has not come to terms with its heritage of genocide and ethnic cleansing. Oh wait, I forgot. Genocide is how we implement democracy throughout history… like in Palestine (ie Israeli government wiping out Palestinians to bring democracy to the middle east. right….)!

This story came across cnn… Protest blockades Columbus Day parade. It seems that the Native Americans aren’t too thrilled with Columbus for some reason. Perhaps it is the same reason Palestinians aren’t too thrilled with the long line of Israeli war criminals, err I mean prime ministers?

Just to be clear…

The democrats want my money?! Ha!

Posted by davidzon | Posted in General | Posted on 21-09-2004

The thugs at the DNC (democrats) sent me a letter ranting about how evil Bush is, and how I should vote for Kerry because he ain’t Bush. Right. This is what they’re getting in return…

“To Whom It May Concern:

I recently received a solicitation from your office for the campaign of John Kerry. While I would love to support his candidacy, I respectfully decline, as I do not feel his views represent mine. I will be voting for Ralph Nader in the next election, not only as a vote of dissent but to help ensure that John Kerry loses this election.”

A Response to A Nader-Hater…

Posted by davidzon | Posted in General | Posted on 17-09-2004

(This is a post made to a Green Party mailing list in response to someone claiming that Nader would destroy third parties in the US for generations to come…)

This issue has been beaten to death by now, but I figure I’m going to add my $0.02 here as well…

Andy, the fact is that I would never have become engaged in the Green Party if it wasn’t for Ralph Nader. And I know I am not the only one. To suggest that “we can expect third parties to die off” as a result of Nader running is to ignore all facts that suggest otherwise — such as the fact that the Green Party has only grown because of the 2000 election.

I am not here to play games. I am not here to support the democrats. I am not here to continue business as usual. I am here to change the system. I am here to challenge the thugs and bastards who dare to call themselves American senators, congressmen, president, etc. They are a disgrace not only to our nation but to our world, and I am not here to say “yea, just play a bit nicer and we’ll let you stay in power”.

Was it worth it?

Posted by davidzon | Posted in General | Posted on 09-09-2004

The New York Times has printed a list of photographs of the 1000 dead in the illegal, unjustified war on Iraq.

These are only american faces. What about all of the Iraqis, the many many thousands who have been maimed and wounded?

Is it worth it?
